There is nothing quite like walking in the woods alone, in Winter. I love the stillness, as though your breath is the only thing moving. Tang of dying leaves and soft sunlight. Clean footsteps and crisp cold air. For my evening walk, I chose a wood that can be accessed via a public footpath that leads you right up onto the Wolds above the Vale of York. The views in all directions are stunning and you can go for miles along the Wolds Way, parts of which are an ancient paths used as far back as 15th century to move between towns and villages. Theyย were so atmospheric, I wanted to share them with you here on New Year’s Eve so that you could walk with me as well.

Theย textures of soggy leaves, unthawed frost, and icy droplets from nearby trees were honestly so amazing.
